Confessions from a Fraternity Pledge
Dear Diary,
These last few weeks have been fucking sick. I actually feel like I’m starting to become a part of the brotherhood. It’s been a lot different than I expected though. I thought it was going to be all purple ties and shotgunning beers, but after the first sleepover, my expectations started to change.
I told the boys I’ve never made friendship bracelets before, but Dylan told me “to not worry about it bro.” I’m definitely getting way better at it. I’m almost ready to move onto lanyards. I also wasn’t expecting to be giving and receiving so many pedicures, but apparently “everyone does it.” My feet have never been so soft. Yesterday, I had to practice my child's pose while we listened to a mindfulness meditation podcast. It was crazy. I haven’t stopped seeing my angel number since.
I just wish I could tell someone about this stuff, you know? Like, I just have to talk to my friends normally, as if I didn’t totally get the most life-changing tarot card reading the night before. Whatever, though. At least me and my brothers understand each other. We always bond at the Monday night tickle fight.
Black out or Back out,
Nate
